Q: Does FM work on PPC 2003?

A: Yes!

Q: Will FM work when Animated Today is installed as well?

A: Although you don't have to, you should disable any running Animated Today Theme when you want to run a FlashMate. This is because a FlashMate will take up only the free space on your Today Screen after the end of the Today Screen components. If AT is running a theme then you will have very little space to see Petra doing her thing...

Q: How do I see a FlashMate?

A: Click Start->Program Files->FlashMates to start the application. Select a FlashMate from those listed in the "Select FlashMate" drop down, select the random period to wait for FlashMates to appear, check the "Enabled" checkbox and then hit "Update FlashMates". When you close the application and return to the Today screen your FlashMate will appear!

Q: What's the "Refresh" button for?

A: After you have installed a new FlashMate if it doesn't appear in the "Select FlashMate" dropdown select Refresh and the application should go and find it for you. After you've refreshed check the list again and it should now be listed.

Q: What do I need to run FlashMates?

A: You need to install the Macromedia Flash Player available here

Q: I installed FlashMates to my storage card but it doesn't seem to work?

A: Both the FlashMates application and FlashThemes player must be installed to the default location in the PocketPC's main memory. This is a bit by design and a bit by oversight, however together they don't take up that much room. If you want to save space remove the two default FlashThemes - "FlashTheme" and "Fish" from the \Windows folder and you be left with taking up under 200KB (not including the Macromedia Flash Player - but you'll want this anyway).

FlashMates content themselves can be installed and run from the Storage Card. this is because they do tend to take up a lot of room (up to 2MB) due the animation quality and the number of animations (roughly 6 in a single FlashMate).

Q: Do I have to select a particular theme to view a FlashMate?

A: No! Regardless of the theme you choose the FlashMate will appear on top of it appearing as part of the actual theme!
